Key Studio Guidelines*

  • Please keep fragrance to a minimum - ensure your clothes and socks are clean

  • Activewear only on the equipment and ZIPPER-FREE!!!

  • Read the room: If you’re the only one chatting in a group class, time to zip it.

  • Cancellation policy: 24 hours for Exercise Physiology and 1:1 Pilates; 12 hours for other services.

  • No latecomers admitted. Do your best to arrive a solid 10 minutes early and complete an active warm-up to prepare you for the class.

  • Observe studio etiquette: Shoes off, socks on, phones off, no zippers on activewear, clean up as you go through every session

  • Our preference is for you to remove your smartwatch, if you seem distracted by it, we will politely ask you to take it off for the session.

  • You are welcome, but chewing gum and body odour are not - deodorant and health products are available in our bathrooms

  • Medium-long hair? Please ensure that your hair is tied up securely before you enter the equipment area.

  • Short-medium hair? Secure your hair to avoid it bothering you or disturbing your active alignment during class

  • Claw or banana hair clips are not permitted

  • Remove any jewellery or paraphernalia that may dent or scratch the equipment

  • Please check your activewear for zippers… they are absolutely not permitted in the studio as they rip our premium upholstery.

  • The studio is a phone-free zone, not a place for selfies, sorry.. it’s a temple and a place of respite.

*there are more guidelines, but we are trying not to scare you off

Studio culture

For over 20 years we have put Pilates front and centre. As legitimate lineage-bearers connected to Mr and Mrs Pilates, we take our work very seriously, but have fun along the way. Our clients are interested in learning about their body, how to move it intelligently, to be healthy at any age.

We are a low-volume studio that has established community guidelines in place to ensure all clients are treated equitably and kindly, this includes training at least twice each week and agreed rules of conduct … such as turning up early for class, being respectful about bookings and not talking in class. Please think carefully before signing up as it’s important to us that you come to the studio when the time is right and you have a clear run at dedicated training; we are in it for the long-haul with you.

Our studio is rooted heavily in the “health at every size” principle. We are free from diet-culture and aesthetic observation or comparison. We strive for ‘body-neutrality’ in the space and operate from a skill-acquisition perspective. We believe that everyone has the right to a space where nourishing, purposeful exercise will triumph over an arbitrary physical appearance.

In sessions, ask questions if you instructions don’t make sense or you’d like to know more about ‘the why’. Our facilitators don’t care about perfection, they genuinely care about working with you towards your goals.

Admin notes

  • Due to our extended hours, we are rarely available by phone, email is best and we can arrange a phone call.

  • Utilise our online booking system for all booking and payment administration including cancellations

  • All sessions are pre-paid or on direct debit. Both methods have their unique terms and conditions, it is your responsibility to ensure you can meet them.

  • Sessions are priced to support those who are most consistent, we also aim to support clients who require additional flexibility in their training calendar.

  • Recurring bookings are a privilege, if you are offered one you need to maintain it 75% of the time.

  • All payment types have an expiry period, we do not extend these unless the studio is unable to provide services within the expiry period.

  • We reserve the right to discontinue to sessions based on schedule or commercial interests or fit with the studio culture

  • If you use the waitlist function in our booking system and are added to the waitlist, it is your responsibility to attend class. This may trigger within half an hour of the class time. We do not accept responsibility for your use of the waitlist system. No-show/late cancellation fees will not be reversed.
